Rule Breakers Websites

You have started to read about designing a web site and have seen several examples of some of the best. I want you to dig a little deeper and find at least 5 web sites that are breaking the rules, but doing it right. www.tokyoplastic.com

What this means, you need to find 5 sites that don't follow the normal web page layout and are trying something different, but the design and layout work. The sites are useable, easy to navigate and do their job getting the information to the viewer.

What's the normal style you ask? Banner on top, navigation to the left and text with one picture. If your really lost on what I am talking about as a normal style go the FHSU page. http://www.fhsu.edu Not that I am saying this is a bad layout, it is effective and loads quickly, but nothing that really sets the world on fire from a design standpoint.

When you find your 5 web sites post them in the Class Blog "Rule Breakers Web Sites". Be sure to give a short sentence or two describing each site and why they are good rule breakers.

Introduce Yourself

Please introduce youself. So, I will do the same.

I was born and raised in Florida, on Clearwater Beach to be exact and graduated for Florida State University a long time ago (other places too, but FSU is my first love).

I have two kids, a son who is junior at FHSU majoring in Leadership Studies and a daughter who will be a sophopmore at University of Missouri Conservatory of Music in Kansas City.She is a dancer. I also have two step-children, both married and one with a new baby.

I taught high school journalism, English, graphic design and photography for 20 years and have been here at FHSU for going on eight.

I like this level and the freedom, but have to admit I really miss high school kids. Could go back to teaching hight school tomorrow and be perfectly happy.

I love to cook, paint and of course photography. I also have a website that is in a constant state of change.

Find one site on the internet that allows you to post your own homepage for free, besides "GeoCities", and post the URL. Also include basic information and if it allows you to create a page online with their own software/template.
